Our classrooms
Three-Year-Old Class:
Our three-year-old class works on pre-skills in fun and entertaining ways. Social skills are a daily adventure as they work on being independent in the classroom. Sharing, taking turns and listening are a few items they work on hard to develop. They play with colors and shapes with paint and crayons. They work on fine motor skills as they tear and cut paper. Language is presented in nursery rhymes, songs and stories. Concepts such as opposites, rhyming words and seasonal activities fill their days as they explore the classroom.
Four-Year-Old Class:
In the four-year-old classroom we focus on readiness skills. Group time and social skills – listening, sharing, taking turns are practiced daily. Fine motor skills are honed as we paint, color, draw, write, cut and even play with play doh. Playground play encourages our gross motor skills. The fours curriculum includes a wide variety of units such as – Making Friends, Apple Time, Harvest, Five Senses, Thanksgiving and Early Americans, Christmas, Nutrition, Our Families, Spring Fever, Valentines, Transportation are just a few units we explore.
Typical Day:
A typical day in any of our classes include, Center Time/Art Time with free choice of play, during this time the child will have the opportunity to do the Art activity of the day; Circle Time with stories, songs and finger plays; Snack Time – a small nutritious snack mid morning; and Play time – outdoors weather permitting.
